May 2010
A relatively unsettled start to the month, with some dry and bright spells of weather, but also a fair number of showers. Temperatures will be on or below average. Rain will continue to feature into the second week but probably to a lesser extent, so generally, expect a continuation of showers and drier weather as we head towards mid month. Temperatures will be on or below average.
By mid-month, the weather shows signs of breaking into a stable pattern with some dry and sunny days. Temperatures will recover, indeed, they will be on the warm side, so a pleasant period through the middle part of May.
Whilst there is the potential for some rain for the final third of May, the month will generally I believe end on a warm note, with decent spells of sunshine. I expect this settled weather to see us into June as well, and whereas it won't be all plain sailing, with the prospect of a continuous run of fine weather, it will, for the majority of the time, be a settled late Spring/early Summer.
Temperatures for the month will reflect average values.
