PWS - The Company

Positive Weather Solutions was formed in 2006.

It comprises a network of UK based meteorologists, who supply data back to the PWS office, which has 2 to 3 staff.

Our information is gathered from sources within the UK, and indeed globally, from independent meteorologists, who have given us exclusive access to their own records and data, which they, (until approached by us), had kept for their own personal consumption.  Using an in-house written piece of software, we combine 30 years worth of historical data with a percentage input of current trends, 85/15 split, and run the program forward to generate our long range forecasts.

PWS has had televised weather forecasts on Sky Channel 166, The Information Channel, with the long range forecast for Western Europe and parts of Russia, which has been running for three years.  PWS believes this to have been the only forecast of this particular nature ever broadcast.  We have also been interviewed on BBC National Television – ‘BBC News 24’; ITV National Television –  ‘ITV Lunchtime News’ and ‘News at Ten’; BBC Wales Television News; ITV Wales Television News, and Reuters TV. Other programmes we have been interviewed on include BBC TV’s ‘The One Show’

PWS also provides weekly weather columns to the media on a regional level; The Carmarthen Journal; Abergavenny Chronicle; The Forester, and Llanelli Star, plus nationally for the award winning newspaper - First News.  We have also been quoted in the Daily Express; The Daily Star; The Independent; The Daily Telegraph; The Mirror; The Daily Mail; The Sun; The People; Western Mail; Wales on Sunday, and many regional newspapers – UK & Eire.

PWS has made the front page of the Daily Express thirteen times; the Daily Telegraph seven times; and the Daily Mail and The Sun once.  PWS has also appeared on the front page of the Metro twice.

**From Monday September 26th to Saturday October 1st 2011, PWS was quoted every single day in the Daily Express, with a front page on Friday September 30th.  Furthermore, from Saturday September 24th to Tuesday October 4th, PWS was quoted in the Daily Express in 9 out of those 11 editions with two front pages.  During September 2011, PWS was quoted three times on the front pages of the national press**

We provide a weekend forecast every Saturday for Real Radio 105 to 106 FM, Wales’ largest commercial station, and also a Sunday forecast on a different show for Real Radio, looking at the weather for the week ahead.  We have been interviewed by BBC Radio Five Live, and regional BBC radio in Wales, and in the West Midlands, Suffolk, Surrey, and Yorskhire; Radio stations in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and independent commercial radio, including the Sunshine Group of stations in Ludlow, Hereford, and Worcester, as well as Real Radio’s sister station Real Radio in the North East of England, plus talk radio stations including TalkSport.

Our clients for weather data have included Warner Bros; Tesco; Jet2Holidays; LanesHealth; Cunningham Lyndsey; Blaenau Gwent County Council; Burtons Foods Ltd; Kautex Textron CVS Ltd; Racing Weather, ITV’s Daybreak programme.

For Warner Bros, we provided daily weather information for outside location filming for scenes in ‘Clash of the Titans II’.

PWS has also worked closely with many charities, including Mind, Age Concern, Make a Wish Foundation, and also worked with CHIIIC, a signing school for hard of hearing.

We also submit a long range forecast to an environmental site, www.4ecotips.com.
