Dry and Hot Weather - 30f to be Breached - Hosepipe Ban - Talk of Drought
PWS - 'We Told You So'
'After a predominantly dry June, with, (after an unsettled start), an even drier July to follow, this weekend sees the magical 30c/86f temperature breached in the southeast of the UK. On Sunday, many places will experience very warm to hot temperatures, as high pressure delivers a glorious end to the month. With talk of a possible hosepipe ban in the northwest, then probably the likes of North Wales; the Midlands, and East Anglia following suit, there's increasing speculation of a 'drought scenario' not seen since the mid 1980's, as the driest start to the year for almost half a century continues. For July and August, we can expect similarly dry runs of weather and warm temperatures, with record temperatures still possible before summer is over, and 100f being breached.
PWS Quote: Rather than concentrate on the Met Office withdrawing their long range forecasts, the government and local councils should of taken more notice on who stepped into make the long range forecasts, where nobody else feared to tread.
PWS Quote: A warm summer with good dry spells was predicted back in March. Following on from an accurate prediction for the winter just gone, and the summer previous, PWS remains amazed that the predictions of the company weren't acted upon.
PWS Quote: We're already working on not just the autumn forecast, but the winter one, and PWS would be inclined for people to take note of what winter 2010/11 has in store.
